ACT Course

ACT has traditionally begun with an intensive two-day experience utilizing interdisciplinary small group communication simulation with patient actors.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have reformatted the course for a remote video-conferencing format (Re-ACT) while maintaining the interactive, interdisciplinary, small group, and patient actor aspects that have made ACT successful.

The primary focus of this initial ACT Course is on introducing and practicing skills clinicians can use to establish a strong therapeutic relationship with patients.  This is accomplished by employing evidence-based communication techniques to both structure serious illness conversations and effectively engage patients and their loved ones to ultimately construct a personalized plan.

Following the ACT Course, we have developed (and continue to refine) ACT Encore to provide post-course follow-up support.

If you’d like to know more please don’t hesitate to use the Contact form to get in touch.  We are always happy to talk!

We would like to acknowledge our friends at VitalTalk for their support in providing a framework for our development of the ACT Course!
