Each ACT Course is an intensive two-day experience utilizing interdisciplinary small group communication simulation with patient actors.
The primary focus of this initial ACT Course is on introducing and practicing skills clinicians can use to establish strong therapeutic relationships with patients. This is accomplished by employing evidence-based communication techniques to both structure serious illness conversations and effectively engage patients and their loved ones to ultimately construct a personalized plan.
Following the ACT Course, we have developed (and continue to refine) ACT Encore to provide post-course follow-up support.
