Recently we commented a bit on the semi-“inside baseball” debate being had in the palliative care world about the benefits, and possibly lack thereof, of advance care planning.
And so…we wanted to point to a new article in JPSM that adds some interesting perspective to this debate. The short story is that both written Advance Directives and the more general process of Advance Care Planning can help at least some surrogates when they are eventually faced with making difficult decisions in the surrogate decision maker role.
It’s worth a read!
